ADHD

ADHD is one of the most common neurobehavioral disorders. ADHD symptoms vary by sub-type — inattentive, hyperactive, or combined. Symptoms of ADHD include inattention (not being able to stay focused, daydreaming), hyperactivity (excessive movement that may not always be fitting to the context/setting someone is in).

Autism Spectrum

Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), is a neurological and developmental disorder that affects how people interact with others, communicate, learn, and behave. An ASD diagnosis includes challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication.

Anxiety

People with anxiety disorders, however, frequently have intense, excessive and persistent worry and fear about everyday situations. They may have panic symptoms as well, including rapid breathing, sweating, trembling.

Parenting Tips

Parenting is hard! In fact, the PEW Research Center has provided evidence that at least 1 in every 3 parents resorts to social media to give and seek parenting tips/strategies.

Parenting Stress

Parents, especially first-time parents, are often expected to feel some anxiety about things. Is my baby sleeping enough or too much, are they eating too little or too much, are they growing, reaching or miss developmental milestones, etc?

Learning Problem

Psychoeducational testing typically involves a comprehensive assessment of a student’s cognitive, academic, and socio-emotional functioning. Tests usually are standardized such that students’ scores are compared on these core areas to other students of the same age and gender.

Trauma

A trauma is an exposure to actual or threatened death, serious injury, or sexual violence. For example, traumatic events may include physical or sexual assault, combat, the sudden and unexpected death of a loved one, torture, intensive medical procedures, or abuse, including childhood or domestic abuse.

OCD

OCD is a common and chronic disorder in which a person has uncontrollable, reoccurring thoughts (“obsessions”) and/or behaviors (“compulsions”) that he or she feels the urge to repeat over and over.

Weight/Eating Concerns

Disordered eating may include symptoms and behaviors of eating disorders, but is used to describe a range of irregular eating behaviors that may or may not warrant an actual diagnosis.

Chronic Illness

Receiving a chronic illness diagnosis can be life changing. Research shows that have a chronic illness like cancer, diabetes, or heart disease may cause additional stress, and this is only normal

Depression

Depression (also called major depressive disorder (MDD) or clinical depression) is characterized by a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest in activities. It causes severe symptoms that affect how you feel, think, and handle daily activities, such as sleeping, eating, or working.

Postpartum Anxiety

Sleep Training

Sleep training” is an umbrella term used for strategies to help a baby or young child fall asleep and stay asleep throughout the night. Some confuse all sleep training methods to be the “cry it out” approach, where you put your child to bed and don’t get them until the following morning.

Defiant Behaviors

All children are oppositional from time to time, particularly when tired, hungry, stressed, or upset. They may argue, talk back, disobey, and defy parents, teachers, and other adults. Oppositional behavior is a normal part of development for two to three year olds and early adolescents.
