Dr. Jihane Ghorayeb is a PhD-level Health Psychologist with over 15 years of clinical, research, and academic experience across Lebanon, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the UAE. She holds a doctorate in Health Psychology from the University of Leeds, completed on a fully funded scholarship. She completed two Master’s degrees in Lebanon and the United Kingdom, focused on improving the quality of life of women recovering from breast cancer and supporting the family, spouse and friends of individuals diagnosed with cancer.
Dr. Jihane's work sits at the intersection of physical health and psychological wellbeing, an area she has explored through research, clinical practice, and academic teaching across three continents. Her research has been published in international journals, covering chronic illness, perinatal mental health, eating disorders, COVID-19 psychological impact, and climate anxiety. She has held faculty positions at the American University of Beirut, Zayed University, and the Rochester Institute of Technology in Dubai, where she has taught on various topics including health psychology, developmental psychology, psychological disorders and interventions to undergraduate and graduate students. She also interned as a researcher at MD Anderson Cancer Center in the United States, one of the world's leading oncology institutions, where she was part of a smoking cessation FDA approved trial.
Clinically, Dr. Jihane works with adults navigating cancer diagnosis, anxiety, mood disorders, eating concerns, health-related distress, and the challenges of life transitions. She applies Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, psychoeducation, and positive psychology frameworks, with a consistent focus on bridging evidence-based theory and real-world outcomes for the individuals she works with. She works fluently in Arabic, English, and French.
