Insurance and payment.
How payment works at CAYA World Clinic, and how we support your insurance reimbursement claim.
CAYA World Clinic is a private, self-pay clinic. We do not have direct billing arrangements with insurance companies, and we are not part of any insurer's clinic network.
You pay for each session directly. If your health insurance policy includes outpatient mental health cover, you may be able to claim the cost back from your insurer afterwards. This is known as pay-and-claim.
- Attend and pay. You pay for your session at the clinic.
- We prepare your claim documents. We give you a claim form completed and stamped by the clinic, together with an itemised invoice. The invoice includes the details insurers typically ask for, such as the clinician's name, DHA licence number, and date of service.
- You submit to your insurer. You send the documents to your insurance company, which reviews the claim under your policy's outpatient mental health benefits and reimburses you according to your cover.
Every policy is different. Some plans cover outpatient psychology sessions in full or in part, some cover only psychiatry, and some exclude mental health entirely. Reimbursement is decided by your insurer under your policy terms, not by the clinic, so we cannot guarantee that a claim will be paid.
Questions worth asking your insurer before booking:
- Does my plan cover outpatient mental health, including sessions with a psychologist?
- Do I need a GP referral or pre-approval before starting?
- What percentage of the session cost is reimbursed, and is there an annual limit?
- Are psychological assessments covered as well as therapy sessions?
